On the occasion of Rosh ha-Shanah, Polish President Karol Nawrocki extended words of support to the Jewish community in Poland, wishing them health, peace, and joy during their family celebrations.
Joy and encouragement for the future
In his message, the President of Poland emphasized the importance of the family dimension of Rosh Hashanah and the spiritual strength that comes from tradition. “May the joint celebration of these special days, when you traditionally exchange best wishes with your family and loved ones, bring you true joy and satisfaction. May it give you strength and encouragement for the future,” wrote Karol Nawrocki.
A new year full of peace and success
The president highlighted the importance of the Jewish New Year for the entire community and expressed his wish that the coming year would bring prosperity and success to both the Jewish community and the entire Republic of Poland.
“I wish you a new year full of peace and happiness. May it bring you satisfaction in the fulfillment of all your plans and intentions,” said Karol Nawrocki.
Jewish New Year
Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Feast of Trumpets, is celebrated at the turn of September and October. It opens a time of reflection and renewal in the Jewish calendar, leading up to Yom Kippur – the Day of Atonement. September 22 marked the beginning of the year 5786 according to the Jewish calendar.
